Class of 2026 Athletic Hall of Fame
On Saturday evening, we proudly honored the newest inductees into the Brookville Athletic Hall of Fame. It was a celebratory night as we recognized two outstanding individuals who demonstrated excellence in Brookville athletics. Please join us in congratulating Emily Grady Shockley (Class of 2007) and Chad Rother (Class of 2002) on their well-deserved induction! Emily Grady Shockley (2003-2007) Softball: A 4-year Varsity letter winner, Emily was a two-time 1st Team All-State selection and two-time SWBL Player of the Year. She led her team to back-to-back OHSAA Division III Final Four appearances. She holds school records for strikeouts in a game (18) and season (276). Volleyball: Also a 4-year Varsity letter winner, Emily helped lead the team to an SWBL Buckeye Co-Championship and holds the school record for most career digs (721). Jolie Gudorf SWBL Athlete of the Week
Congratulations to BHS sophomore Jolie Gudorf on earning SWBL Athlete of the Week honors. Jolie is having an incredible start to the season, averaging 22.0 points per game to lead all SWBL scorers. She posted a career-high 28 points against Milton Union on Monday, Dec. 22. In addition to leading the league in scoring, Jolie also tops the SWBL in assists per game (5.0) and ranks in the top five in four league statistical categories. Coach Melissa Ross Named 2025 OATCCC District 13 Boys Track & Field Coach of the Year
We are incredibly proud to announce that Melissa Ross has been named the 2025 OATCCC District 13 Boys Track & Field Coach of the Year!This prestigious honor comes on the heels of a truly historic achievement, as Coach Ross led our Blue Devils to the OHSAA Division II State Track & Field Championship last June. That victory was a monumental moment for our school and community, marking Brookville’s first state championship title since 1973. Congratulations, Coach Ross, on a well-deserved honor!

Girls XC advances to Regional Championships
CoEd Varsity Cross CountryThe boys and girls jumped into action this last weekend in the OHSAA SW District at Cedarville. Both teams advanced for the 4th consecutive year to the OHSAA Regional Championships at Troy. The girls ran behind the continued leadership of Cayleigh Tipton and Ella Renner who finished 19th and 23rd. Next in for the Devils was Senior Lindsay Rieder (44th) who ran her best time (22:55) in 4 years running the Cedarville course! Kyra Hope and Riley Lake were in next placing 49th and 52nd respectively. Next in was the best displacer in the entire field. Raegan Griffith-Burchfield put herself in front of 11 teams 4th and 5th runners. Also displacing other teams well was Nora Dunkle who added 3 points to other qualifying teams making it a genuine team effort on the day. Boys XC advances to Regional Championships
CoEd Varsity Cross CountryThe boys and girls jumped into action this last weekend in the OHSAA SW District at Cedarville. The boys also managed to grab one of the qualifying spots behind a great trio out front in Miles Bland (50th), Tyler Tait (54th), & Christian Seitz (56th). Next in for the Devils were Drew Stammen (62nd) and Luuk Fokkink (63rd) giving our tema the narrowest, & best 1-5 spread on the day at 30 seconds! We also had excellent displacing from Sam Seitz and Evan Pentecost who added a combined 16 points to other qualifying teams scores. This just shows you the kind of depth this team has compared to most schools our size. Teamwork makes the dreamwork! Boys Varsity Football vs. Eaton High School
Boys Varsity FootballThe Brookville Blue Devils defeated the Eaton Eagles on Friday night 29-28 in overtime. After a scoreless first half the Devils scored 22 second half points and 7 in overtime for the win. The offense was led by DJ Moore with 157 yards rushing and two touchdowns, and Jayden Resor with 154 yards rushing and two touchdowns. The defense held the Eagles to 17 yards rushing and 169 yards passing. Eaton went for two in overtime, but the defense stopped them for the victory. The Devils are 5-0 in league play and 8-0 overall. Next week we travel to Valley View for the chance to be the SWBL Buckeye Division Champions with a win. Thanks for all your support and we hope to see you there.

SWBL Championships - 10/11/25
CoEd Varsity Cross CountryThe Boys and Girls XC teams competed in the SWBL Championships this last Saturday. The girls team finished 4th only behind state ranked teams Oakwood, Waynesville, & Dayton Christian. We made a nice run at DC but just came up a little short. The girls led by the dynamic duo of Ella Renner (12th) and Cayleigh Tipton (19th) who were both 2nd Team All SWBL. Lindsay Rieder (27th) followed in next with a season best time and Honorable Mention SWBL. Riley Lake (28th), Kyra Hope (31st), Raegan Griffith-Burchfield (35th), & Alma Schreiner (43rd) finished out the varsity scoring for the Blue Devils. We also saw some nice personal best times from Nora Dunkle, Stephanie Ruiz, & Claire Ballengee. Congrats to Elle Renner who made our school leaderboard with a time of 21:04! The girls will be in post season action this Coming Saturday Oct 18th at Cedarville’s Elvin King Cross

Boys Varsity Football vs. Oakwood
Boys Varsity FootballThe Brookville Blue Devils traveled to Oakwood Friday night and beat the Lumberjacks 35-14. The offense was led by Jake Lenser, Jayden Resor, and DJ Moore who all rushed for over 100 yards. Touchdowns were scored by Jayden Resor, Aden Lamb, and DJ Moore. The defense held Oakwood to 42 rushing yards and was led by linebackers Sam Norby with 10 tackles and Jake Lenser with 7. The Blue Devils are 7-0 overall and 4-0 in the league. Boys Varsity Football vs. Carlisle High School
Boys Varsity FootballThe Brookville Blue Devils defeated the Carlisle Indians Friday night 41-7. Senior fullback Jake Lenser led the offense with 18 rushes for 133 yards and 4 touchdowns. DJ Moore and Jayden Resor each had a rushing touchdown. The defense continues to play well, holding the Indians to 76 rushing yards. The Blue Devils are 6-0 overall and 3-0 in league play. We travel to Oakwood next week to take on the Lumberjacks.

Boys 8th/18 & Girls 6th/15 at Cedarville Friendship Invitational
CoEd Varsity Cross CountryThe boys and girls cross country teams were in action this past Saturday at the Cedarville Invitational. The boys notched an 8th place finish out of 18 teams and the girls were 6th out of 15 teams.The boys were led by medalist Miles Bland who managed a 19th place finish and PR of 17:52. It was an exceptional run on a difficult day where very few people managed a personal best due to the heat. Next in for the Blue Devils were Christian Seitz 37th, Evan Pentecost 48th, David Gayman 50th, Luuk Fokkink 56th, Drew Stammen 63rd, and Jonah Rhodes 81st. Despite the challenges of the day, we saw some nice runs from Bryson Murdock, Max Fent, & Mackson McKellar. The girls were again led by Cayleigh Tipton who grabbed a medal at 25th place finishing the race in 22:05. Boys Golf Wins Big on Senior Night
Boys Varsity GolfThe Blue Devils varsity boys golf team capped off the season in style with a 175–198 victory over the Valley View Spartans on Senior Night. Fittingly, all three seniors led the way. Brody Schondelmyer fired a 40 to earn medalist honors once again, while Daelon Wackerman added a 43 and Brayden Coleman followed with a 44. Kyle Peak rounded out the scoring with a steady 48. It was a wonderful evening celebrating our seniors and honoring the lasting impact they’ve made on the golf program as outstanding leaders and role models. The Blue Devils closed the season with an 8–5 dual match record and now turn their attention to the Division II OHSAA Sectional Championships at Yankee Trace on Thursday, September 25.

Boys and Girls XC runs well in the Troy Twilight Invitational!
CoEd Varsity Cross CountryThe Boys & Girls Cross Country teams were in action this last weekend at the Troy Twilight Invitational. The girls placed a 6th place out of 31 teams in our division. The girls were led by a nice one-two punch from Cayleigh Tipton who finished 14th and Ella Renner 19th in the race featuring 397 runners total. Varsity scoring was completed by Alma Schreiner 63rd, Kyra Hope 78th, Lindsay Rieder 93rd, Raegan Griffith-Burchfield 210th, & Riley Lake 220th. We also had a nice PR run from Stephanie Ruiz. The boys team featured the best teamwork in all the divisions of racing. There was a mere 26 seconds between our 1st and 5th runners and only 48 seconds between our 1st and 7th. The boys team was led by Sam Seitz (20th) followed closely by Evan Pentecost (21st), Miles Bland (22nd), Christian Seitz (29th), Tyler Tait (34th), Drew Stammen (45th), & Greyson Florkey (47th).

Boys Golf SWBL Results
Boys Varsity GolfThe varsity boys golf team closed out SWBL play with their best 18-hole performance in three years, carding a 347. Brody Schondelmyer led the Blue Devils, earning 2nd Team All-SWBL honors, finishing 9th overall in cumulative scoring across the 36-hole SWBL tournament, and placing in the top 20 of 70 golfers. After some tough breaks early, Brody battled back and played his final nine holes at just three over par, finishing with a resilient 85.It was a day of career bests for his teammates as well. Brayden Coleman (87), Jordan Vince (87), and Kyle Peak (88) all recorded their personal-best 18-hole scores. Brayden improved an incredible 24 strokes from his first round to his second, highlighted by six pars. Jordan was locked in with the putter, sinking two birdies and six pars. Boys and Girls Cross Country both finish 7th at the 61st Annual Brookville Invitational
CoEd Varsity Cross CountryThe Brookville Invitational has come roaring back from it's biggest races in the early to mid-80s. The 2024 Invitational had 790 registered runners and this years 2025 Meet saw 1,227 runner register. There were 38 different schools represented. The boys and girls teams both performed very well, losing only to much larger schools like Centerville, Fairmont, Northmont, and the always tough Lumberjacks of Oakwood.The boys team was paced by Miles Bland who managed to snag a medal. The boys team used a fantastic pack attack. We had 7 boys in a 39 second window which was probably the smallest time gap in the race. This is exactly where we need to be and the boys are running very well for their team! Our Varsity scoring was completed by Miles Bland 39th, Tyler Tait 44th, Drew Stammen 53rd, Christian Seitz 54th, Evan Pentecost 60th, Greyson Florkey 68th, & Luuk Fokkink 70th. Boys Varsity FootballThe Brookville Blue Devils defeated the Northridge Polar Bears Friday night 42-15. DJ Moore led the Blue Devils with 92 yards rushing and three touchdowns. Jake Lenser had two rushing touchdowns, and Jayden Resor had one rushing touchdown and two passing. The defense played well in keeping the Polar Bears out of the end zone until the middle of the fourth quarter. Leading tacklers were Aden Lamb, Sam Norby and Von Price. Boys Golf Extends Winning Streak
Boys Varsity GolfThe Blue Devil varsity boys golf team rolled to their fourth straight victory with a dominant performance over Monroe. Senior Brody Schondelmyer led the way, firing a career-best 37 highlighted by eight pars, including a gritty save on the par-4 eighth. Daelon Wackerman carded a 42, matching one of his best rounds of the season, while Kyle Peak also posted a steady 42 with sharp short-game play and several impressive up-and-downs. Brayden Coleman turned in a solid effort as well, battling through a few big holes to contribute to the win.Brookville will wrap up its extended home stretch tomorrow against Milton-Union in what promises to be a tightly contested match.

Boys Varsity FootballThe Brookville Blue Devils defeated the Springfield Shawnee Braves on Friday night 49-7. The Blue Devil offense rushed for 227 yards. DJ Moore led the Devils with two rushing touchdowns. Aden Lamb, Jayden Resor, and Jake Lenser each had one rushing touchdown. The defense held the Braves to 48 yards rushing and 58 yards passing. Jake Lenser and Lucas Chambers each returned an interception for a touchdown. Next week the Blue Devils are at home against the Northridge Polar Bears.

Boys XC finishes 7th out of 15 at Skyhawk Invitational
CoEd Varsity Cross CountryThe boys XC team finished an impressive 7th out of 15 teams while resting a few of our top runners. The team was led by a solid run from Luuk Fokkink who handled the challenging course in 19:27 which was good for 33rd place. Varsity scoring was rounded out by Greyson Florkey, Christian Seitz, David Gayman, Jonah Rhodes, David Copley, Alex Waggoner, and Blake Stacy. We had seven kids run PRs which is great for Fairborn! The largest PRs came from newcomer Blake Vedder & Max Fent. We also had PRs from Carson Barr, Evan Allen, Mackson McKellar, David Copley, and Jaykob Voiles. The boys will be in action this Saturday at the Urbana Hillclimber Invitational running the 5K at 10am. This will be the first time we've run at full strength so this should be exciting!

Girls Cross Country 3rd of 11 at the Skyhawk Invitational
CoEd Varsity Cross CountryThe girls XC team finished a solid 3rd out of 11 teams at the Fairborn Skyhawk Invitational. The girls rested a few athletes and allowed a few others to step up and play bigger roles. We had a top ten finish from Kyra Hope who finished 9th in a PR of 23:14. We also had PR runs from Riley Lake, Stephanie Ruiz, and Hannah Russell. Fairborn is a tough course and our girls handled it well! The girls will compete this coming weekend in the Urbana Hillclimber Invite on 8/30 at 10:45am. We hope to run the entire team at this one and see where we land…hopefully on top!

Boys Varsity FootballThe Brookville Blue Devils defeated the Tri-County North Panthers on Friday night 49-16.The offense was led by Aden Lamb with 2 touchdowns, DJ Moore 2 touchdowns, Jake Lenser and Ike McSurley with 1. QB Carson Collins threw two touchdown passes. The defense held the Panthers to 54 total rushing yards and was led by Von Price with 6 solo tackles. Boys Varsity GolfThe Blue Devils varsity boys golf team delivered their best nine-hole team score of the season, carding a 172 in a decisive win Monday evening at Eaton Country Club—a challenging course that rewards local knowledge.Brody Schondelmyer once again led the charge with a steady 40, shaping a smooth five-yard draw through the narrow fairways all night. The highlight of the evening came from sophomore Tim Moler, who finished birdie–par to post a personal-best 43. After working his way up from JV, Tim’s performance was a testament to his discipline and relentless work ethic.Brayden Coleman continued his upward trend with a 44, while Kyle Peak found his rhythm again, adding a reliable 45 to round out the scoring.

Boys Cross Country finishes 13th out of 26 at Bob Schul
CoEd Varsity Cross CountryThe boys team finished 13th out of 26 full teams. The boys were again led by Tyler Tait who completed the course in 18:33 which secured him 56th place out of 317 runners in the race. Next in and completing the scoring for the Devils were Christian Seitz 66th, Miles Bland 70th, Sam Seitz 74th. Evan Pentecost and Drew Stammen worked well together closing out our scoring in 80th and 81st place. Greyson Florkey was probably one of the higher placing displacers on the day. The boys team is very well balanced and just needs to pack up and run together better. We will be ready when it matters most at the end of the season. Again, leadership from Blake Stacy, Drew Stammen, and Evan Pentecost will be key for putting it all together!The boys will be in action this Wednesday 8/27 at the Fairborn Skyhawk Invitational.
